On Portsmouth Regional Hospital Addition, I was the lead architectural designer on the project while working at Barge Design Solutions, I oversaw the architectural enhancements for the Portsmouth Regional Hospital’s new Radiation/Oncology addition. This project included the Linac Vault, notably featuring a ceiling painted with serene sky imagery to ease patient stress during treatments. Emphasizing patient comfort, the design integrates advanced lighting systems to create a calming atmosphere.
The project also featured a vibrant mural in the hospital’s hallway, bringing a sense of nature indoors, enhancing the environment for patients and staff. This artistic addition, alongside the strategic design of functional spaces like the nurse station and MRI room, aimed to merge aesthetic appeal with operational efficiency. The renovation not only enhanced patient care facilities but also set new standards in healthcare environment design, underscoring Barge Design Solutions' commitment to innovative and empathetic architectural solutions.
